Jeff was the Director of Bands at James Madison High School in Vienna, Virginia, from 1973 to 1997. He received a Bachelor of Music and a Performer's Certificate in French Horn from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. While attending Eastman, he played solo horn with the Eastman Wind Ensemble under Frederick Fennell.
