ABC Traditions
Over the history of ABC, many traditions have evolved. These are just a few:
- Omar's
- Nightly gathering spot for study-weary students & clinicians.
- Starbucks or The Beanery
- Indoor or outdoor seating with plenty of caffeine to keep you awake through those evening study sessions.
- Cathi's Birthday
- July 1 Cathi Leibinger celebrates her birthday with a trip to the movies followed by a party at Omar's.
- July 4th Pizza Feed
- Lunch on the 4th is not covered by the meal plan, and it's impossible to get downtown for lunch and back in time for the afternoon rehearsal, so most ABCers meet after the parade at Great American Pizza Co. (it used to be Northwest Pizza & Pasta Co. until they stopped opening in 2006) for a fun and tasty lunch.
- Post-Exit Exam Relaxation
- Unwind with a cold, tasty beverage at one of Ashland's many restaurants.
- Arrive Early, Stay Late
- Many ABCers choose to move into the dorm on June 19, allowing a full day for settling in, meeting new people, buying a laundry card, going shopping, etc.. Leaving on July 6 allows time to unwind after the exit exam, say your good byes, and pack at a leisurely pace.
